Supporting Foundry Club
We invite all of you who design with native scripts – to tell stories, connect cultures, and make your identities visible. Because the GRANSHAN Bloom Award is a community project run by volunteers, our entry fees are fair and simple: no hidden extra costs, just price levels that work for different studio sizes and budgets around the world.
From classic print (books, magazines, posters) to digital frontiers (digital media, motion graphics), from complex design systems (environmental & experiential design, campaigns, visual Identity & branding) to experimental & unpublished work – every project and every script can find its place here.
Excellence in multi-page publications: books, magazines, brochures, catalogues, and annual reports where typography plays a central role in readability and layout.
Single-sheet designs including event posters, promotional posters, and artistic statements where type acts as the primary visual element.
Packaging design for products, music, or retail where script-specific typography enhances the brand experience and shelf appeal.
Websites, mobile apps, digital interfaces, and software design focusing on on-screen readability and responsive typographic systems.
Kinetic typography, title sequences, broadcast design, and social media animations where type is set in motion.
Wayfinding systems, signage, exhibition design, and spatial installations where typography interacts with the physical environment.
Integrated advertising and branding campaigns across multiple media channels that utilize consistent and impactful typography.
Logos, wordmarks, and comprehensive identity systems that rely on script-specific typographic distinctiveness.
Research projects, calligraphy, early-stage concepts, and experimental type explorations pushing the boundaries of the script.
Every submitted project must feature at least one script beyond Latin. And because each category is judged by native experts, your work will be seen, read, and understood in the language it speaks.
Across 8 Script Groups and 9 media categories, each panel unites script specialists and media experts, with at least twelve jurors per Script Group, so your work never ends up in a generic pool but is reviewed by people who live your script and its cultural nuances.
We’ll reveal our jury members step by step, so this page keeps filling up as the GRANSHAN Bloom Award jury “blooms” script by script and region by region. Above these panels, an international grand jury will later select up to 50-Best-of-the-Best from all Bloom winners.
We’re starting with the scripts where we have established native panels. Additional scripts will join as native juries are appointed. Recommend your script for the next edition.
Every project chosen by our expert jury receives a GRANSHAN Bloom Award and is showcased online.
A clear mark of recognition you can share with clients, collaborators, and your community.
Exposure through GRANSHAN channels and selected media partners, connecting your work with an international community.
Your project will be part of our online exhibition and kept in a long-term archive.
We are also planning a travelling exhibition to present selected works at partner venues around the world.
We are developing a printed publication to share a curated selection of recognised works.
In addition to the GRANSHAN Bloom Awards, there may be special recognitions – such as the Supporting Foundries’ Choice.
This award isn’t about gold, silver, or bronze. Every recognition is equal – because every script deserves to be seen.
And at the very end, a special panel of internationally renowned experts will select up to 50 “best of the best” projects – an extra spotlight for outstanding work across scripts, media, and regions.
Join a growing community of designers whose work is finally evaluated in its original language and cultural context — by native experts at the peak of their careers.

The GRANSHAN Bloom Award is non-profit and created by the community, for the community. We offer self-assessed fee levels to make participation possible for designers and organisations of all sizes and from all economic contexts. We trust each entrant to choose the fee level that best reflects their situation. Fees apply per submission and per media category — if a project is entered in more than one category, each entry is assessed (and paid for) separately.
Anyone involved in communication design using at least one beyond-Latin script in our eight script groups – from independent designers and studios to publishers, agencies, NGOs, and students. If your work speaks in multiple scripts, even better. We welcome both professionals and emerging talents.
Yes – as long as the work is finished enough to be judged and clearly marked as unpublished or pre-published. Research-based, conceptual, and speculative projects are welcome in the “Experimental & Unpublished Work” category.
Absolutely. Many projects live in more than one medium. Simply submit and pay for each category separately so that it can be evaluated by the relevant media experts.
Yes – you retain full copyright. By entering, you grant GRANSHAN a non-exclusive licence to present your work in award-related exhibitions, publications, and communications, always with proper attribution.
You’re responsible for securing the necessary rights and permissions before submission. If in doubt, credit clearly and obtain written consent from the rights holders.
Our submission platform includes help prompts, but if you run into trouble, you can reach out to the GRANSHAN support team at support@granshan.com with screenshots or details. We recommend not waiting until the final deadline to avoid last-minute stress.
